How to Update Your DNS and Nameservers for BoostedHost’s Upgraded Infrastructure

At BoostedHost, we’ve made significant upgrades to our hosting infrastructure to enhance performance, security, and user experience. These changes ensure that your websites and services operate faster, more reliably, and with improved protection. Here’s a detailed overview of what’s new:

  1. Control Panel Upgrade: We’ve transitioned from Plesk to cPanel, offering a more intuitive and powerful interface to manage your hosting services.
  2. DNS Cluster Implementation: A new DNS Cluster has been deployed, improving the availability and reliability of your domains. This ensures faster DNS resolution and better redundancy.
  3. LiteSpeed Web Server: All servers now run on LiteSpeed Web Server, providing up to 9x faster performance for your websites. We’ve removed Apache and NGINX, but your .htaccess files will continue to work seamlessly.
  4. Advanced Security: We’ve integrated Imunify360, a leading malware protection solution, to safeguard your websites from threats and vulnerabilities.
  5. Enhanced Email Features:
    • Calendar Integration: Email accounts now support calendars, making collaboration and scheduling easier.
    • Improved Email Deliverability: We’ve implemented measures to ensure your emails reach their destination reliably.
  6. User-Friendly Dashboard: A dark mode option has been added to our dashboard, protecting your eyes during extended use.
  7. Backup Solution: All your data is now backed up securely to a cloud-based solution, ensuring 0% data loss. These backups are encrypted, providing access only to BoostedHost and you, the customer.

These improvements reflect our commitment to delivering the best hosting experience possible. However, to take full advantage of these updates, some users may need to make changes to their DNS or Nameserver settings.

This guide will explain what actions, if any, are required based on your current setup.

Do You Need to Take Action?

For Users with Domains and Nameservers Managed by BoostedHost

If your domain and DNS settings are already managed by BoostedHost, no action is required on your part. Your settings have been updated automatically, and your services are ready to benefit from the new infrastructure.

For Users Using Cloudflare

If you manage your domain’s DNS through Cloudflare, some changes are necessary to align with the new server configuration. You will need to update your A Records with the new IP addresses. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your Cloudflare dashboard and locate the domain you wish to update.
  2. Navigate to the DNS section.
  3. Remove all existing A Records associated with your domain.
  4. Add the new A Records using the following IP address that matches your location:
    • USA Location207.244.225.199
    • EU Location213.136.75.61

Make sure you use only 1 A record for each domain.

If managing DNS records through Cloudflare feels too complex, we recommend switching to BoostedHost’s Nameservers for easier management. Instructions for this are provided below.

For Users with Domains Purchased from External Registrars

If your domain is registered with a provider other than BoostedHost (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap), you need to update your domain’s Nameservers to point to BoostedHost. The new Nameservers are:

  • ns1.boostedhost-dns.com
  • ns2.boostedhost-dns.com
  • ns3.boostedhost-dns.com

Here’s how to make the changes:

  1. Log in to your registrar’s account and access the DNS or Nameserver settings for your domain.
  2. Replace the current Nameservers with the new ones listed above.
  3. Save your changes. These updates may take 24 to 48 hours to propagate globally, so please allow some time for the changes to take effect.

Additional Notes

To summarize the critical updates:

  • If you use Cloudflare, you must update your A Records with the new IP addresses.
  • If your domain is managed externally, switch to BoostedHost’s Nameservers for a smoother experience.

The new IP addresses are as follows:

  • USA Server IP207.244.225.199
  • EU Server IP213.136.75.61

What Happens if You Don’t Update?

Failing to update your DNS or Nameservers may result in website downtime or degraded performance. It’s essential to complete these changes promptly to avoid interruptions.
